Learning to Pray (like Jesus)

  • We’ve been praying already through a lot of the service.

We call it worship or singing.

Praying Scripture for ourselves and others:

    Psalms

    Desolation

    Psalm 22:1 (NLT)

My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help?

    Where are you experiencing desolation?

    Consolation

    Psalm 23:1 (NLT)

The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.

    Where are you experiencing consolation?

Praying prayers from the OT and NT:

    Ephesians 3:14-19 (NLT)

When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

    1. Pray for yourself

    2. Pray for someone else

    3. Pray for us as a church around the world

We very often go through our days, and we completely miss God’s presence.

    Pray as You Go

Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. –Soren Kierkegaard
