The Early Church: Longing for a New Age

 Acts 1:1-5 (NIV) 

Began—Jesus is STILL working in and through us by his Holy Spirit.

 Holy— Forming Jesus in us and using us to bring holiness into the world.

How is God calling you to a more holy life?

 Spirit— Ruach (Hebrew)/Pneuma (Greek) Wind or Breath

Power of the Wind.

Life of Breath

 Where do you need power? Where do you need life?

 Kingdom of God—Wherever God’s reign is acknowledged and expressed

When will the end times come?

 Acts 1:7-8 (NLT)

 We share with others what we have experienced.

 Acts 2:1 (NLT)

 Pentecost—50 days after Passover


Hag ha-Bikkurim (the Festival of the First Fruits)

 First fruits is the guarantee that later harvest will come

 1 Corinthians 15:20 (NIV)

 Hag Matan Torateinu (the Festival of the Giving of Our Torah).

 Tradition of the rabbis was that every Jew who ever lived was there at Mt Sinai in their soul hearing the giving of the covenant on Mt Sinai in their own language. There were signs and wonders at Mt Sinai: Loud thunder and fire.
