The word “Christian” is used in many ways in today’s society. You may believe you are a Christian because you may say ...
“I have always felt God in my life.”
“I live in a Christian country.”
“I go to church.”
“I grew up in a Christian home.”
“I believe in God.”
“I do good deeds.”
While these things may be good in themselves, according to the Bible, none of these things makes a person a Christian. A Christian is someone who has asked Jesus Christ to be the forgiver of his sins and the leader of his life.
It is as simple as A-B-C
To become a Christian, the Bible says that you must do these three things:
Admit your need for God
You are powerless to overcome your sin -- your rebellion against God.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
Believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins.
Jesus is the only bridge to God. He is God. He paid the penalty for our sins and will empower us to change.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Choose to ask Jesus to be the forgiver of your sins and the leader of your life. John 14:6
If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. Romans 10:9
How Do I Tell God That I Want To Become A Christian?
Talk with God (pray) and tell Him...
Dear God, I admit I need you because I am powerless to deal with my own selfish desires and my rebellion against you. I believe that Jesus paid for my sins when He died on the cross. I choose to ask You to forgive my sins. Jesus, please be the leader of my life.
